The JY-JSS Polymer Cement Waterproof Coating is a versatile, high-performance solution designed for a wide range of waterproofing applications. It can be applied on wet or dry substrates, including masonry, mortar, concrete, metal, wood, rigid plastics, glass, gypsum board, foam board, asphalt, rubber, SBS membranes, APP membranes, polyurethane, and more. This makes it ideal for both industrial and civil engineering projects on new or existing structures.

Construction Process of JY-JSS Polymer Cement Waterproof Coating

1. Base Layer Treatment

• The substrate surface must be flat, solid, clean, and free of sharp objects, dust, standing water, oil stains, or other contaminants.
• All internal and external corners, as well as pipe roots, must be formed into smooth arcs: internal corners with a radius ≥25mm, external corners with a radius ≥5mm.
• Uneven areas and cracks must be leveled first; leaking areas must be sealed prior to coating application.

2. Mixing Ratio and Material Preparation

• Type I Product: Liquid : Powder = 10 : 8 (by mass).
• Type II Product: Liquid : Powder = 10 : 12 (by mass).
• If water is required, add it to the liquid material first (within 15% of the liquid quantity). Gradually add the powder while stirring continuously with a mechanical mixer for at least 5 minutes until the mixture is uniform and free of lumps.
• The prepared coating must be used within 2 hours. Do not add water after initial mixing, as increased viscosity will affect workability.
• Adjust water addition slightly to control viscosity for vertical or horizontal surface application, following the mixing ratios indicated on the product packaging.

3. Detailed Additional Waterproof Layer

• Fill grooves with sealing material where necessary.
• Apply multiple coatings (2–4 layers) at critical areas such as internal/external corners, pipe roots, and drainage outlets.
• For underground projects, reinforce with one layer of base fabric (fetal reinforcement material). The fabric must be laid flat, without wrinkles, with overlaps of at least 100mm. Apply one coat of coating before laying the fabric, then brush another coat over it after placement.

4. Large-Area Waterproof Layer Construction

• Apply the coating in multiple thin layers—typically 4 layers; up to 5 layers for special projects.
• Allow approximately 8 hours between layers (extend in winter). The first layer should be thin (0.2–0.3mm); subsequent layers 0.4–0.5mm each.
• Reference Dosage: When the total waterproof layer thickness is 1.0mm, consumption is approximately 2.0–2.2 kg/m² (actual usage depends on substrate condition and final thickness).
• Construction Thickness: Minimum 1.5mm for horizontal surfaces; minimum 1.2mm for vertical surfaces. Avoid thick single-layer application to prevent cracking.
• For vertical surfaces, use little or no water to prevent sagging, ensuring design thickness is achieved and avoiding material buildup at corners that may lead to cracking.
• After completion and quality acceptance, protect the finished waterproof layer from damage.

5. Key Construction Notes

• Temperature: Construction should be carried out at 5°C–35°C. No application in rainy or snowy weather.
• Sequence: Base treatment → Detailed additional waterproofing → Large-area coating → Quality inspection and acceptance → Protective isolation layer.
• Quality Control: Ensure full penetration of the coating into the reinforcement fabric without wrinkles or edge curling. Final protection measures must be implemented post-acceptance.

Precautions

• Construction is prohibited below 0°C or in rainy/snowy conditions. Outdoor work is not allowed, but indoor projects may proceed with proper insulation.
• Use materials as allocated. Once liquid and powder are mixed, do not add water.
• For colored coatings, ensure all materials are from the same batch and within the expiration date.
• Apply the next coat only after the previous one is dry to the touch and non-tacky. Adjacent coats should be brushed in perpendicular directions.

Packaging, Transportation, and Storage

• Liquid is packed in plastic drums; powder is packed in plastic-lined woven bags.
• During transport, protect from rain and impact to keep packaging intact.
• Store liquid at above 5°C; keep powder in a cool, dry place.
• Shelf life is 6 months in unopened, undamaged packaging. Material may be used after passing re-inspection if stored beyond this period.
